About Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab

Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL), Punjab, was established by the State Legislature of Punjab by passing the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law Punjab Act, (Punjab Act No. 12 of 2006). The Act incorporated a University of Law of national stature in Punjab, thereby fulfilling the need for a Centre of Excellence in legal education in the modern era of globalization and liberalization.

About Centre for Business Laws and Taxation

The Centre for Business Laws and Taxation (CBLT) is a research Centre under the aegis of Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab. It aims to promote and conduct interdisciplinary research and undertake numerous activities and projects in the realm of Business Laws and Taxation.

The vision of the Centre is to bridge the gap between theory and practice by ambitiously collaborating with the experts of the industry, reputed organizations, prominent academicians and various bodies of the government as it promises to create a healthy forum for discussion and discourse while carrying out research on policy, institutional, legal and regulatory issues.

With multiple objectives and endeavours, the Centre acts as a platform to expand the scope and horizon of business law and taxation through a multidimensional approach and activities at RGNUL.

About Insolvency and Bankruptcy Law Division

The IBLD is a new specialized division established by CBLT with a singular focus on restructuring and insolvency laws. Recognizing the growing importance of this specialized legal area, the IBLD aims to deepen understanding, foster research, and contribute to the development of effective insolvency practices. By bringing together experts, scholars, and practitioners, the IBLD will be at the forefront of exploring the complexities of insolvency law and its impact on the business landscape.

Call for Blogs

The IBLD-CBLT invites blog submissions on the theme of “Reforming the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016: Adopting Global Best Practices for Enhanced Efficiency” from legal practitioners, advisors, academicians, and law students.

Sub-themes

  • Avoidance Transactions Under the IBC: Exploring opportunities for value creation and maximizing creditor recoveries.
  • RERA vs IBC: Navigating the complexities at the intersection of landowners, developers, builders, and allottees.
  • The Interplay Between the IBC and Criminal Jurisprudence: Understanding the convergence of insolvency processes and criminal law principles.
  • Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Considerations in Insolvency: Addressing the prioritization of environmental claims in the insolvency framework.
  • Reforms in the Waterfall Mechanism: A comparative analysis of global best practices in creditor hierarchy and distribution.
  • Group Insolvency in India: Highlighting the need for definitive regulatory frameworks.
  • Tax Claims Under IBC: Balancing the principles of a clean slate approach with the state's tax claims.
  • The sub-themes are suggestive in nature. Blogs based on the broad theme are invited.

Submission Guidelines

  • Use Garamond font, size 12, with a line spacing of 1.5.
  • Maintain margins of 1.5 inches on the left and 1 inch on the right, with 1 inch on the top and bottom.
  • Citations should be hyperlinked within the document and the portion being referenced.
  • The Board reserves the right to add additional links to sources relevant to the post.
  • Submissions should be between 1000-1500 words.
  • Co-authorship is limited to a maximum of two authors.
  • The manuscript should not contain the name of the author(s), institutional affiliation, or any other identification mark.
  • The author(s) are responsible for the accuracy of facts, opinions, or views stated in the submitted manuscript.
  • All manuscripts will be checked for plagiarism by the Editorial Board, and infringing, offensive, or plagiarized submissions will be rejected. A similarity index of 20% will be strictly adhered to for all submissions.
  • Submissions must be made through the Google Form.
  • The last date for the submission of the blogs is 11:59 PM, 29th November, 2024.
