About MNLU Mumbai

Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai, established under the Maharashtra National Law University Act 2014 on 20th March 2014, is one of the premier National Law Universities in India. The Act envisaged to establish a National Law University in Maharashtra to impart advanced legal education and promote society-oriented research in legal studies for the advancement of societal life of the people in the country.

About LHSS Journal

In a bid to contribute more comprehensively to the conversation around interdisciplinarity in law and humanities and social sciences, the LHSS Collective, MNLU Mumbai plans to start the Law, Humanities and Social Sciences Journal (LHSS-J) . In the coming days, the journal aspires to furnish a platform for emerging research in the field while also harbouring expertise from fields such as history, philosophy, political science, sociology and literature in their engagement with law. At the same time, it would also strive to expand the horizons of readership for interdisciplinary research beyond the borders of conventional academic spaces.

Submission Categories

  • The LHSS Journal will accept the following categories of papers:
  • Articles - 3000-5000 words
  • Case comments - 2000-3000 words
  • Book reviews - 1500-3000 words

Submission Guidelines

  • All submissions should be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by any other journal.
  • Co-authorship is permitted, with a maximum of two authors for any submission.
  • Plagiarism and AI-generated content will be strictly checked, and submissions found in violation will be rejected without further review.

Content and Formatting Guidelines

  • Submissions must be made in MS Word format (.docx or .doc) and conform to the citation style adopted by the journal. The name of the document must be the same as the title of the submission.
  • Authors are encouraged to include a brief abstract (150-200 words) with their submission.
  • The title of the post must be formatted to Times New Roman, Size 14, 1.5 Line Spacing, in All Caps and in Bold.
  • The main body of the submission must be formatted to Times New Roman, Size 12 and with 1.5 Line Spacing and single line space between paragraphs.
  • All references must conform to the APA Citation Style in the form of footnotes. It should be formatted to Times New Roman, Size 10 with 1 Line Spacing.
  • The paper should not contain the name or institutional affiliation of the author, or any information that may disclose the identity of the author and hamper the review process.

Review Process

Each submission would go through a double-blind peer review process in addition to initial filters for plagiarism and AI checks.
