II JLUCCLHR Article Writing Competition on the theme "Tracing Constitutionalism in the Era of Global Governance and Sequencing Human Rights Issues across Horizons" January, 2025
About the Competition
The JLU Centre for Constitutional Law and Human Rights at Jagran Lakecity University, Bhopal, is hosting the II JLUCCLHR Article Writing Competition 2025 on the theme "Tracing Constitutionalism in the Era of Global Governance and Sequencing Human Rights Issues across Horizons". This competition invites students pursuing 3 or 5-year law courses and Social Science students of varied related majors to engage deeply with pressing contemporary constitutional issues and on the following sub-themes -
- Comparing regional and global constitutionalism,
- Democratic Deficits in Global Governance - Challenges of ensuring democratic freedom and democratic accountability (Across all the tiers (Local to International) of governance),
- Rise of Nationalism and Populism vis-a-vis Human Right issues,
- Constitutionalism, Development and Environment Protection,
- Impact of technological advancement on global governance and need for new constitutional frameworks,
- Constitutionalism, Law Enforcement Agencies and Issues of Human Right Violations,
- Constitutionalism and Digital Governance - Issues of human right violations,
- Human Rights and Humanitarian Access in Conflict Zones: Displacement, Information Manipulation, and Global Obligations,
- Policy Responses to Racial, Ethnic and Gender Discrimination: Lessons from Global Perspectives, and
- Labour Rights and Social Justice in the Age of Globalization.
About the Centre
The JLU Centre for Constitutional Law and Human Rights at the Faculty of Law, Jagran Lakecity University, Bhopal, is a research centre established with the aim of promoting research in the fields of Constitutional Law and Human Rights.
Faculty of Law was established in the year 2014 as part of Jagran Lakecity University, Bhopal. It is the only participating university from Central India ERASMUS+ program under the Tuning India Project, funded by the European Commission. It is also currently the country chair for the Association of Universities of Asia Pacific (AUAP).
Eligibility
Author(s) must be currently:
- Students pursuing 5 years law course, or
- Students pursuing 3 years law course, or
- Social Science students of varied related majors courses.
Important Dates
- Last date of Registration: 10th January, 2025
- Last date of Submission of the Article: 26th January, 2025
Awards and Perks
- The Winner will be awarded with INR 5,000/- prize money.
- 1st Runner Up will be awarded with INR 3,500/- prize money.
- 2nd Runner Up will be awarded with INR 2,500/- prize money.
- Meritorious awards will be given to 4 participants with INR 1,000/- prize money.
- Selected Articles will be published by Manupatra after following the due process.
- Certificate of Merit would be provided to the Top 10 Participants.
- Certificate of Participation would be provided to the participants over the successful submissions of their articles.
