Human Rights are Natural Rights to be Human and Remain Human. The antonym of ‘Inhuman’ is ‘Human’. Whereas ‘wrongs’ to anyone is a violation of rights in ‘beings’. The term inhuman clearly explains our dislike towards manners, behaviours and actions which are great hindrances & threats to our day to day routine work and progress in life. Human Rights movement talks about the basic aspects of life, essential for human living and further development. We look to the only Governmental Agencies for our protection. But we forget the near and dear ones and foolishly believe them, saviours.

The victims of inhuman wrongs are from poor to affluent, only the mode and manners is different. The Institutions are to protect Human beings from ‘Inhuman wrongs’ and promote developmental measures. Despite our beliefs in democratic setup, all are crying for Human Rights protection. This forces us to think that something is wrong on the part of ’Human Beings’. Human Rights have to be protected by Human beings only. Even the agencies are also a set of Human Beings. This draws our attention that something is wrong on the part of human beings – towards ‘Duties and Responsibilities’.

The fiftieth anniversary of UDHR deals with Human Duties and Responsibilities (DHDR). In this background, the Seminar tries to explore the mechanisms of ‘Human Duties and Responsibilities’–Individual, family, society and the Nation. The Indian Constitution does talk about Fundamental Rights (FR), Directive Principles of State Policy (DPSP) and Fundamental Duties (FD). But there is no express provision which can explain Fundamental Responsibility (FR) of individuals towards himself, his family, society and the Nation and the Coordination among FR, DPSP, FD & FR as well.

Chanakya National Law University is a public law school and a National Law University in Patna, Bihar, India. It was established in 2006 by the Government of Bihar as a public university dedicated to the field of legal education. The Chief Justice of Patna High Court is the ex officio chancellor of the university.
