1. Recognition of Sex work as a profession (1st June 2022)
Supreme Court of India recognised sex work as a profession whose practitioners are entitled to dignity and equal protection of the law. The 3-judge bench led by Justice L. Nageswara Rao stated that police should neither interfere nor take criminal action against the consenting adult sex workers.
2. Defence Contract signed for the supply of ASTRA MK-1 BVR AAM (1st June 2022)
The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has inked a contract with Hyderabad-based public sector Bharat Dynamic Limited (BDL) for the supply of ASTRA MK-1 Beyond Visual Range (BVR) Air-to-Air Missile (AAM) and related equipment to the Indian Air Force and Indian Navy.
3. June 01st recognised as World Milk Day By FAO (1st June 2022)
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations adopted June 1 as World Milk Day. The day is marked to recognise milk as global food and to celebrate the dairy industry. The theme chosen for the year 2022 is 'dairy net zero'.
4. Inauguration of 1st Nano Urea Plant in Gujarat (2nd June 2022)
The Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi inaugurated the world's first nano urea liquid plant by Indian Farmer's Fertilisers Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) at Kalol, Gujarat.
5. India's 1st LMT commissioned in Uttarakhand (2nd June 2022)
The first liquid mirror telescope in the country and the largest in Asia – was commissioned atop Devasthal, a hill in Uttarakhand. This will now keep a watch on the overhead sky to identify transient or variable objects such as supernovae, gravitational lenses, space debris, and asteroids.
6. United Nations approved Turkey's request to rename it as 'Turkiye' (2nd June 2022)
On 2nd June 2022, The United Nations changed the Republic of Turkey's country name at the organisation from "Turkey" to "Türkiye", following a request from Ankara for the change.
7. SHRESHTA Scheme launched by Union Government (3rd June 2022)
Union Minister of Social justice and empowerment Dr Virendra Kumar launched the Scheme "SHRESHTA"-Scheme for residential education for students in High schools in Targeted Areas. The Scheme for Residential Education for Students in Targeted Areas (SHRESHTA) has been formulated with the objective to provide quality education and opportunities for even the poorest. Scheme for Residential Education for Students in High Schools in Targeted Areas (SHRESHTA) provides for high-quality education for meritorious but poor SC students in CBSE-affiliated reputed residential schools across the country.
8. Right to Repair is recognised for the first time in New York (3rd June 2022)
New York state legislature is the world's first, to pass a law for Digital Electronics. The "right to repair" bill was enacted by requiring digital electronics makers to make parts, tools, information, and software available to customers and independent repair businesses.
9. Meghalaya win the best project award at UN World Summit (4th June 2022)
The Meghalaya government's key initiative of the e-proposal system, part of Meghalaya Enterprise Architect has won a coveted UN Award- World Summit on the Information Society Forum (WSIS) prize at Geneva in Switzerland.
10. IAF Heritage Centre to come up in Chandigarh (5th June 2022)
A heritage centre to showcase the role of the Indian Air Force in various wars and its overall functioning will come up at Chandigarh. The 'IAF Heritage Centre' will be set up jointly by the force and the Chandigarh administration. An MoU between the Union Territory of Chandigarh and the IAF for setting up the centre was inked.
11. PM Narendra Modi launched a global initiative "LiFE" (5th June 2022)
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the 'Lifestyle for the Environment (LiFE) Movement', a global initiative, and asserted that its vision is to live a lifestyle that is in tune with our planet and does not harm it.
12. Joint Military Training Exercise conducted by India-Bangladesh(5th June 2022)
India-Bangladesh bilateral defence cooperation, a joint military training exercise Ex SAMPRITI-X is being conducted at Jashore Military Station in Bangladesh from 05 June to 16 June 2022. The aim of the exercise is to strengthen interoperability between the two armies and to understand each other's tactical drills and operational techniques.

World Environment Day is observed globally on 5th June every year. This day is observed to raise awareness about protecting the environment and to remind people not to take nature for granted. World Food Safety Day is celebrated globally on June 7 every year as per the World Health Organization (WHO). This year, the theme is Safer food, and better health. WHO also launched a campaign to inspire global participation. The United Nations General Assembly established World Food Safety Day in 2018 to raise awareness of this vital food safety issue.

The Minister of Civil Aviation, Shri Jyoti Aditya M. Scandia, launched the National Air Sport policy 2022 (NASP 2022). The vision of NASP 2022 is to make India one of the top sports nations by 2023. 19. Ramakrishna Mukkavilli became the first Indian to be recognised as a Global SDG Pioneer (7th June 2022)
For the first time in the world, an Indian has been named a Global Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Pioneer for Water Stewardship by the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC).
20. India Performed worst in Environment Performance Index, 2022 (8th June 2022)
India came in last out of 180 countries with an overall score of 18.9 in the Environment Performance Index, 2022 while Denmark came in first as the world's most sustainable country. The environment Performance Index (EPI) is an analysis by Yale and Columbia University researchers that gives a data-driven evaluation of the situation of sustainability around the world.

World Oceans Day is celebrated on June 8 every year across the globe. The day is commemorated to remind people of the importance of the oceans and their major role in everyday life. China has released a new geological map of the moon, which it says is the most detailed to date, registering even finer details of the lunar surface than mapped by the US in 2020.

41. NIPUN Initiative launched in New Delhi (21st June 2022)
Housing and Urban Affairs Minister, Hardeep Singh Puri has launched an innovative project National Initiative for Promoting Upskilling of Nirman workers (NIPUN) in New Delhi. NIPUN is an initiative of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs under its flagship scheme of the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Urban Livelihoods Mission DAY-NULM to train over one lakh construction workers, through fresh skilling and upskilling programmes and provides them with work opportunities in foreign countries also.

43. India's GSAT-24 launched (23rd June 2022)
New Space India Limited (NSIL) launched GSAT-24, following the space reforms leasing the entire satellite's capacity to Direct-to-Home (DTH) service provider Tata Play. This was the company's first "demand-driven" communication satellite mission. The satellite, developed by the Indian Space Research Organization for NSIL, was successfully launched into geostationary orbit from Kourou in French Guiana by the Ariane 5 rocket (South America).

Shreya Lenka is the first Indian woman ever to have a successful career as a K-pop performer. Along with a Brazilian woman named Gabriela Dalcin, the 18-year-old from Odisha is currently a member of the well-known South Korean girl group Blackswan. NASA researchers successfully launched the CAPSTONE spacecraft to the moon from New Zealand. The launch took place on Rocket Lab's Electron rocket. Mission CAPSTONE stands for Cislunar Autonomous Positioning System Technology Operations and Navigation Experiment.
