15th November 2024, Jabalpur - Centre for Studies in Tribal and Indigenous Communities (CSTIC) at Dharmashastra National Law University (DNLU) commemorated Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas, celebrating the birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, with a grand event on November 15, 2024.
Leadership and Coordination
The event was organized under the esteemed guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Kumar Sinha, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of DNLU. It was coordinated by Dr. Jalaj Goantiya and Dr. Amit Kumar Mishra, Faculty Advisors of CSTIC, along with an enthusiastic student organizing committee led by Mr. Rishabh Bharti (Convenor), Ms. Mayuri Tumdam, and Mr. Piyush More (Co-Convenors).

- Dr. Harishankar Markam elaborated on Bhagwan Birsa Munda’s legacy as a revolutionary leader who resisted British colonialism and worked tirelessly for tribal upliftment.
- Prof. (Dr.) Bir Pal Singh shared captivating stories about tribal knowledge of environmental preservation and their vibrant cultural heritage.
- Shri Prakash Singh Uikey emphasized the importance of legal reforms to preserve tribal customary laws and identities while promoting inclusivity and harmony.

Cultural Performances
The program concluded with energetic and colorful dance performances by members of the Sanjatiya Kalyan Sanstha and DNLU students. These performances celebrated the rich cultural heritage of tribal communities, leaving the audience mesmerized.
Faculty Participation
Prominent faculty members graced the occasion, including Dr. Manwendra Kumar Tiwari, Associate Professor, Dr. Animesh Jha, Assistant Professor of Law, and Dr. Deeplaxmi Chille, Associate Professor at DNLU.
