Green Revolution 2.0: A Leap Towards Environmental Conservation unveils the ambitious state-wide tree plantation drive and the launch of the ‘Nisarga App’ by the M.P. High Court. This initiative marks a significant stride towards sustainable environmental conservation and a greener future.

A Historic Launch on World Environment Day

In a significant step towards environmental conservation, Hon'ble Shri Justice Sheel Nagu, Acting Chief Justice and Executive Chairman of the MP State Legal Services Authority, inaugurated a mega state-wide tree plantation drive on June 5, 2024. This initiative, launched on the occasion of World Environment Day, aims to conserve the environment and combat the rising temperatures that threaten our planet.

Distinguished Attendees and Virtual Participation

The launch event saw virtual participation from several esteemed justices, including Hon'ble Shri Justice Sushrut Arvind Dharmadhikari, Administrative Judge, High Court, Bench Indore; Hon'ble Shri Justice Vivek Rusia, Administrative Judge, High Court, Bench Gwalior; Hon'ble Shri Justice Anand Pathak, Judge, High Court, Bench Gwalior; and Hon'ble Shri Justice Subodh Abhyankar, Judge, High Court, Bench Indore.

The Panch-J Abhiyan: A Commitment to Greenery

The MP State Legal Services Authority has pledged to plant and conserve 5 lakh saplings across the state from June 5, 2024, to August 15, 2024, under the Panch-J Abhiyan. With a target of planting 10,000 saplings in each district, this initiative reflects a strong commitment to enhancing the state's green cover.

Justice Nagu’s Call for Environmental Responsibility

In his address, Hon'ble Shri Justice Sheel Nagu highlighted the alarming rise in temperatures and the urgent need for environmental action. He stressed the importance of not just planting but also conserving trees to ensure a better environment for future generations. He encouraged everyone to pledge to plant and care for at least five saplings and advocated for gifting plants instead of bouquets to promote environmental consciousness.

Nisarga App: A Technological Leap for Conservation

Hon'ble Justice Shri Anand Pathak emphasized the importance of tree conservation alongside plantation. He introduced the 'Nisarga App,' an innovative initiative developed by the High Court IT Team under the guidance of the Hon’ble Chief Justice. This app will enable continuous monitoring of planted saplings, ensuring their growth and survival.

Collective Effort for a Greener Future

Shri Ratnesh Chandra Singh Bisen, Member Secretary of the MP State Legal Services Authority, highlighted the collective effort required to preserve the environment. His inaugural address underscored the societal benefits of the mega plantation drive. The event was graced by various dignitaries, including Shri Manoj Kumar Srivastava, Registrar General; Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Kumar Sinha, Vice Chancellor of Dharmashastra National Law University; Principal District and Sessions Judges of all districts; and officers from the Advocate General's Office, MP State Judicial Academy, State Legal Services Authority, and the Forest Department.

A Unified Vision for Environmental Preservation

The state-wide tree plantation drive and the launch of the Nisarga App represent a unified vision for environmental preservation. This initiative not only aims to combat climate change but also seeks to instill a sense of responsibility and environmental stewardship among the citizens of Madhya Pradesh.
