24 Dec 2024, Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh – Dharmashastra National Law University (DNLU) marked the successful conclusion of its Two-Day Boot Camp on New Criminal Laws on December 24, 2024. The event focused on the recently enacted Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA).

Organized by the Centre for Criminal Justice Administration and Research at DNLU in collaboration with the Centre for Legislative Research & Reforms (CLRR), the boot camp was a significant step toward understanding these transformative legal frameworks.

Visionary Leadership and Inaugural Ceremony

The event, held under the visionary leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Kumar Sinha, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of DNLU, commenced on December 23, 2024. The Chief Guest, Hon’ble Shri Justice Avanindra Kumar Singh, Judge of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh, inaugurated the boot camp, commending the organizers for their initiative and emphasizing the importance of these new laws in shaping a modern criminal justice system.

Expert-Led Interactive Sessions

The boot camp featured a series of hybrid-mode sessions led by prominent experts in criminal law, including:

  • Dr. Dharmendra Tada – District and Additional Sessions Judge, Bhopal
  • Mr. Sameer Kumar Mishra – Civil Judge Senior Division, Jabalpur
  • Mr. Utkarsh Kumar Sonkar – Advocate, M.P. High Court
  • Mr. Anubhav Jha – Assistant Professor, RGNUL
  • Shri S.N. Khare – Retired District Judge
  • Dr. Mukulita Vijayawargiya – Founder, CLRR

  • Dr. Sankalp Singh – Assistant Professor, DNLU

The sessions provided over 100 participants with invaluable insights into the practical implications of the new laws and their role in addressing contemporary legal challenges.
