17th December, Patna — In a significant step towards academic excellence, Dharmashastra National Law University (DNLU), Jabalpur, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Chanakya National Law University (CNLU), Patna. The partnership aims to foster collaboration in research-oriented courses, including Masters and Ph.D. programs, further solidifying DNLU’s mission to advance legal education.

Established in 2018 under the Madhya Pradesh Dharmashastra National Law University Act, 2018, DNLU is committed to upholding the rule of law as enshrined in the Indian Constitution. The university offers B.A. LL.B. (Hons.), LL.M., and Ph.D. programs under the guidance of:

  • Visitor: Hon’ble Judge of Supreme Court of India Shri Justice J.K. Maheshwari
  • Chancellor: Hon’ble Chief Justice of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh Shri Justice Suresh Kumar Kait

About CNLU Patna

CNLU, established under the Chanakya National Law University Act, 2006, is a premier institution recognized under Section 2(f) & 12(B) of the U.G.C. Act, 1956. Prof. (Dr.) Faizan Mustafa, the current Vice-Chancellor, brings a wealth of experience to CNLU, having served as the former Vice-Chancellor of NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad, and the founding Vice-Chancellor of National Law University Odisha. His accolades include the SAARC’s ‘Best Law Teacher Award’ in 2014 and the Commonwealth Scholarship and Fulbright Fellowship. The Signing Ceremony

The MoU was signed by Prof. (Dr.) Faizan Mustafa Vice-Chancellor CNLU and Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Kumar Sinha, Vice-Chancellor DNLU in the presence of, Sri P.K. Shahi, Advocate General, Bihar, Sri Baidnath Yadav, IAS Secretary, Education Department, Bihar, Sri Anjani Kumar Singh, Law Secretary, Bihar, Sri Rama Kant Sharma Chairman, State Bar Council of Bihar and Prof. Ali Mehdi, Former Dean, Faculty of Law BHU, Prof. Dr. S.P. Singh, Registrar CNLU and Prof. Ajay Kumar, Professor of Law, CNLU

During the ceremony, Prof. Mustafa underscored the importance of student and faculty exchange programs as pivotal for academic growth and institutional collaboration. He encouraged DNLU students to visit CNLU’s campus to attend classes and engage in academic discussions, thereby broadening their horizons and enhancing their professional skills.
Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Sinha echoed these sentiments and extended a warm invitation to CNLU’s students and faculty to visit DNLU regularly. Both leaders emphasized fostering greater interaction between the institutions to build a robust academic ecosystem.
