A Brief Introduction: Campus Law Centre

Campus Law Centre is one of the oldest premier legal education centres in the country. It has a rich legacy of well-known judges, lawyers, Ministers, and Academicians who have excelled in their respective fields.

Being a part of the Faculty of Law, the CLC offers a three-year LL.B (Bachelor of Law) program of study, and LLM, MCL and PhD programs of studies managed by the Faculty of Law. The focus of the study is case-based which makes the student well versed with the legal language from the first year itself.

Dean's & HOD’s Name: Prof Anju Vali Tikoo

Background: Prof Anju Vali Tikoo completed her PhD From the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi in 2003 with a thesis topic, “Organ Transplant in India: A socio-legal study”. Her specialization lies in Criminal Law, Public Health Law, and Human Rights. With more than 23 years of teaching experience, she has also published various articles in some of the well-known journals.

She was also appointed by the Hon’ble High Court of Delhi in 2007 to assist it in the formulation of guidelines under the Transplantation of Human Organs Act. She has been a visiting member at various institutions, including the Indian Law Institute, JMI University, and the Delhi Judicial Academy, and also serves as a member of the Delhi Legal Services Authority.

Message/Philosophy: Prof Anju Vali Tikoo is a perfect example of women's empowerment. With multiple experiences in the academic field, she is an inspiration to a lot of young people who have just started their careers.

Truly, through her everlasting career, she gives a lesson that learning never stops and the more one acquires knowledge, the more one grows.

Admission Process

Eligibility Criteria: Different eligibility criteria are mentioned in the prospectus for different courses :

  • B.A. LLB: A 12th pass out student.
  • LLB: Minimum of 50% marks in graduate/postgraduate degree from the University of Delhi or any other Indian or Foreign University recognised as equivalent to the University of Delhi
  • LLM: Three-year/five-year LL.B. Degree from a recognized University with at least 50% aggregate marks or an equivalent CGPA. Other backward-class candidates, should have at least 45% marks or equivalent CGPA while for SC/ST candidates, the minimum aggregate marks are 40%.

Application Procedure

  • Qualify the respective entrance exam for the required course.
  • Fill up the Application form in the CSAS Portal of Delhi University by selecting the requisite course.
  • After clearing the cut-off, appear for counselling and verification of the documents uploaded.
  • Pay the course fees and the allotment of the course by the university will be done.

Infrastructure

Campus Facilities: The University provides various facilities for students such as a well-ventilated library, cafeterias, and health centre facility for students.

  • It also has around 18 hostels for boys and girls. Seats for LLB students are reserved

  • A separate moot courtroom is provided to enable students to develop their skills

Library: There is a separate law faculty library. It has over one lakh fifty thousand books and various law reports and journals. It subscribes to nearly 140 national and international journals. The Library has a dedicated E-Resource Centre for accessing a large number of electronic databases of journals and reference sources subscribed by the University through the Library's website.

Hostel/Accommodation: Law faculty does not provide a separate hostel for law students but the University of Delhi’s hostels have some seats reserved for them.
