About the Competition

The 15th GIL Moot Court Competition, 2025 is a national-level competition designed to bring together the brightest legal minds from across the country. Known for its unconventional and thought-provoking moot propositions, the competition provides students with an invaluable opportunity to enhance their legal knowledge and advocacy skills while competing on a prestigious stage.

Theme

The moot proposition addresses critical contemporary legal issues of the New Criminal Laws 2024, enabling participants to engage in a rigorous analysis of facts, laws, and jurisprudence.

Eligibility

  • The competition is open to all bona fide students currently enrolled in a 3-year LL.B. or 5-year integrated LL.B. program at any recognized institution in India.
  • Each team must comprise three members: two speakers and one researcher.

Registration Fee

₹5,500 per team, inclusive of accommodation and food.

Prizes

  • Winning Team: ₹31,000 + Trophy
  • Runners-Up Team: ₹15,000 + Trophy
  • Best Memorial: ₹3,100 + Trophy
  • Best Speaker (Male): ₹3,100 + Trophy
  • Best Speaker (Female): ₹3,100 + Trophy
  • Best Researcher: ₹3,100 + Trophy
  • Participation Certificates will be provided to all participants after the valedictory ceremony.

  • Provisional Registration Deadline: 11th January 2025
  • Final Registration Deadline (Soft Copy): 25th January 2025
  • Final Registration Deadline (Hard Copy): 1st February 2025
  • Deadline for Seeking Clarifications: 8th February 2025
  • Release of Clarifications (If Any): 12th February 2025
  • Memorial Submission (Soft Copy): 18th February 2025
  • Memorial Submission (Hard Copy): 24th February 2025
  • Draw of Lots (Virtual Mode): 27th February 2025
  • Oral Rounds: 1st - 2nd March 2025

Registration Process

1. Provisional Registration

  • Teams must email their institution’s name, contact details, and team information to mootcourtsociety@geetalawcollege.in with the subject “Provisional Registration for 15th GIL Moot Court Competition, 2025” by 11th January 2025.

1. Final Registration

  • Submit the soft copy of the registration form along with the Demand Draft (or NEFT details) by 25th January 2025.
  • Submit the hard copy of the registration form and Demand Draft by 1st February 2025.
  • Demand Draft must be drawn in favor of “Geeta Institute of Law”, payable at Panipat.

3. Submission of Memorials:

  • Soft Copy Submission: By 18th February 2025 to mootcourtsociety@geetalawcollege.in.
  • Hard Copy Submission: By 24th February 2025 (12 hard copies in total: 6 from each side).
