About Department of Law, PIMR
Department of Law, Prestige Institute of Management and Research (Indore), is a well-established premier Law School in the state of Madhya Pradesh which enjoys autonomous status conferred by UGC since 2006. It is recognized by the University Grants Commission under Section 2(f) and 12 (b). The Institute has been accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and has received NAAC “A” Grade by UGC in 2009 and further reaccredited with Grade “A” in 2014 and further with A++ in 2021. The institute is offering a wide and diversified course structured in the five-year integrated law programs which are B.A.LL.B (Hons.), B.Com.LL.B (Hons.) and B.BA.LL.B (Hons.) along with high quality curriculum in three years LL.B (Hons.) and two year LL.M.
About the Moot Court Competition
The National Moot Court Competition Committee of the Department of Law at Prestige Institute of Management and Research (Indore) is organising the 4th edition of the Padma Shri Dr. N.N. Jain National Moot Court Competition in 2024. The National Moot Court Competition is where eloquence meets justice, where students transform into legal eagles, and where the courtroom drama unfolds beyond the pages of textbooks. The competition is organised by a student-led body- National Moot Court Competition Committee that administers and stimulates excellence in Mooting and Legal Research activities.
Eligibility
Students of three years and five-years law degree courses from any University/Law School/College/Department are eligible to apply for registration of their team. However, a maximum of two teams shall be allowed to participate from one University/Law School/College/Department.

Guidelines for the Memorial Submission
All memorials submitted for the purposes of the Competition shall strictly adhere to the rules as stated below-
- Teams have to prepare memorials for both sides, i.e., Petitioners and Respondents.
- The registered teams shall submit their memorial (one each in PDF and Microsoft Word (.docx/.doc) format )for both sides by email (mootcourt@pimrindore.ac.in) by 27TH MARCH, 2024 and same shall be submitted in hard copy latest by 5th April, 2024 {4 printed copies (2 for each side)} of such memorials addressed to:
Structure of Competition
The Inaugural Ceremony and Orientation of Participants will be held on 12TH APRIL, 2024.
The Competition shall consist of the following Oral Pleading Sessions:
- The Preliminary Rounds: 12TH APRIL, 2024
- Researcher’s Test: 13TH APRIL, 2024
- The Quarter-Final Rounds: 13TH APRIL, 2024
- The Semi-Final Rounds : 13TH APRIL, 2024; and
- The Final Round: 14TH APRIL, 2024
Registration Fee:
The registration fees for the competition is as follows
- With Accommodation- Rs. 8,200/-
- Without Accommodation- Rs. 5,200/-
Prizes And Awards
Awards shall adhere to the following scheme:
- Winning Team: Rs. 35,000/-
- Runner-Up Team: Rs. 25,000/-
- Best Written Submission/Memorial: Rs. 7500/-
- Best Speaker: Rs.7500/-
- Best Researcher: Rs.5000/
