5th National Moot Court Competition, 2017- IMS Unison University

IMS Unison University’s jubilant 5th National Moot Court Competition came to a close in the Valedictory ceremony embellished by Chief Guest Mr. Mahesh Chandra Kaushiwa, (HJS) Additional Secretary, Law & Justice cum Additional Legal Remberance, Law Adviser , Government of Uttarakhand.

The exultant Finals were followed by the Valedictory ceremony in which Dr. B. M. Dimri, Dean, School of Law warmly welcomed dignitaries and participants to the valedictory ceremony. Dr.Saroj Bohra, Head, School of Law, presented a report on the on the three day event which witnessed grit and hard work of 42 teams from across the length and breadth of the country. Dr. M.P.Jain, Chancellor cited examples of exemplary behavior by judges and exhorted students to emulate them. He congratulated the winners as well as the participants and hoped the event was a great learning experience for participants.

Chief Guest Mr. Mahesh Chandra Kaushiwa applauded efforts of School of Law in organizing the competition on a contemporary moot problem. He said the moots connect students to actual practice and asked students to focus on human values to do justice.

The Proceedings

The beguiling Final Round advanced with the participants from the top two teams launching into a show of strenuous argumentation. The teams showed perceptible mettle and vigor. The effervescent teams left no stone unturned as they sprinted on each other with ingenuity and inventiveness. The esoteric questions of the judges kept the participants on their feet as they prudently faced every logistic and exigency. The Finals witnessed everything from perseverance to skirmish

The much-awaited results were announced in the following categories:

  1. Winner Team – National University of Study and Research in Law, Ranchi
  2. First Runner up team – University of Mumbai Law Academy
  3. Second Runner up team – SKVM’s Pravin Gandhi College of Law, Mumbai
