Exam Date

AILET 2025 Date: December 8, 2024 (Sunday)

Timing: 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM (Offline – Pen and Paper based) (OMR sheet based) mode.

Eligibility Criteria

B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) Programme:

Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed the 10+2 or equivalent exam with at least 45% marks (42% for OBC, 40% for SC/ST/PwD).

Age Limit: No upper age limit for admission.

Appearing Candidates: Candidates appearing for the 12th standard annual examination in 2025 are eligible to apply.

LL.M. (One-Year) Programme:

Educational Qualification: Candidates must have completed their LL.B. degree with 50% marks (45% in case of SC/ST/ Persons with Disabilities). Candidates appearing for the final year LL.B. annual examination in 2025 are eligible to apply.

Ph.D. Programme:

Educational Qualification: A Master’s degree in Law or equivalent with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST non-creamy layer/ Differently Abled/ Economically Weaker Section).

Total Marks: 150 marks

Total Questions: 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs)

Sections

• English Language: 50 questions
• Current Affairs & General Knowledge: 30 questions
• Logical Reasoning: 70 questions (this section might include legal principles to test logical aptitude, but legal knowledge is not required)

LL.M. Programme

• LL.M. entrance test will consist of 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), each worth 1 mark, covering various branches of law.

Ph.D. Programme

• 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), each carrying 1 mark.
• 50 MCQs on Research Methodology. 50 MCQs from different branches of Law

Key Points

• The exam will have a total duration of 120 minutes.
• 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
• If two or more candidates score the same marks in the AILET 2025, their ranking will first be determined based on the higher score in the Logical Reasoning section.
• If the tie persists, the older candidate will be given preference. If the tie remains unresolved, a computerized draw of lots will be conducted to decide the final ranking.
