About The Society For Constitutional Law Discussion

The Society For Constitutional Law Discussion (TSCLD) was established by the students of Chanakya National Law University, Patna, with a vision to provide a platform for public discourse and deliberation vis-à-vis Constitutional Law. The Society, through its E-Magazine and Blogs, intends to serve as a platform for students, academicians, and practitioners to engage in Constitutional law discussion and writing. The Constitution gives us the first and last hope for rights, liabilities, and justice. TSCLD provides a platform where you can write and express your opinion on different issues related to Constitutional Law fearlessly.

The Constitution Day marks a significant milestone in the history of India, commemorating the adoption of the Constitution. In honour of this occasion, The Society For Constitutional Law Discussion is organising a webinar that delves into the contemporary challenges and opportunities posed by the digital age to constitutional law.

About the Webinar

The webinar will consist of discussions, keynote addresses, and interactive Q&A sessions towards the end. Distinguished speakers from academia and legal practice will share their perspectives on the sub-themes, providing participants with a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and opportunities presented by the digital age.

About the Speakers

I. Prof. (Dr.) Yogesh Pratap Singh (Vice-Chancellor and Professor of Law, National Law University, Tripura): Prof. Yogesh Pratap Singh received his LL.M. from National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore, and LL.B. from the University of Allahabad. His doctoral thesis entitled “Contribution of Dissenting Opinions of Indian Supreme Court Judges to the Indian Legal System: A Critical Evaluation” is recognised as a significant contribution to the understanding of the voting patterns of judges in the Supreme Court of India. Dr. Singh served as Deputy Registrar of Research in the Supreme Court of India (on deputation) from May 2016 to October 2018. Dr. Yogesh participated in the 39th Annual Session on International Human Rights Law organised by the International Institute of Human Rights (IIHR) in Strasbourg, France. Dr. Yogesh was also part of the Ciedhu program in France conducted for University Teachers. Prior to joining as the Vice-Chancellor of the National Law University, Tripura, he was Professor of Law and Registrar at NLU Odisha. He was part of the founding team of KIIT Law School, KIIT University, Bhubaneswar. He constantly writes in the field of law in reputed law Chronicles, national and international law journals.

II. Mr. Nishant Verma: Mr. Verma is a practising Advocate on Record, Supreme Court of India (qualified in July 2022 in 1st attempt) with a demonstrated history of working in the law practice industry. He is skilled in Drafting, Argument, Legal Advice, Client Relations, Legal Research, Vetting, Due diligence, and Legal Writing. Sir is a strong legal professional with a Bachelor of Laws - LLB focused in Civil, Criminal, Constitutional and Commercial matters and other subjects.

III. Mr. Kumar Gaurav (Assistant Professor of Law, Chanakya National Law University, Patna): Kumar Gaurav is an Assistant Professor of Law at Chanakya National Law University, Patna. He completed his LL.B. and LL.M. from Law School, BHU. He also obtained the degree of Master of Science in Cyber Law and Information Security from IIIT, Allahabad. He qualified for UGC-NET in 2013. He teaches both at the Undergraduate and Post Graduate levels. His area of interest includes Cyber Law, Medical Jurisprudence & Forensics and Criminology, Penology and Victimology. He delivered various lectures as a Resource Person in governmental and non-governmental forums on cyber law and cyber security.
