About the Lecture Series on Constitutional Law of India

The Indian Constitution serves as both, a legal and a political document to the country. It has taken quite a while for the people of the nation to be open to the laws and the protective measures that have been provided to them through the law of land. There are certain matters of legal as well as political intricacies that need to be looked upon once again as the nation strives to reach the pinnacle of success in adopting the law of this land in its complete sense. There are issues which demand the authority to delve into depths of reforms, proper allocation of resources and creation of a new realm of laws for the Indian citizens.

In the light of this our college is organizing a lecture series on the topic “Constitutional Law of India: Contemporary Issues”.

The topic focuses on the recent judgments pronounced by the Honorable Supreme Court of India on various issues related to constitutional provisions and the trend towards transformative Constitutionalism. Prof. (Dr.) Nuzhat Praveen Khan (Professor, Faculty Of Law, Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi), Prof. Dr. Priti Saxena ( Professor, Dept of Legal Studies, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Central University, Lucknow), Prof. Dr. S.D. Sharma ( Professor, Faculty of Law, Kumaun University), Prof. Dr. G.S. Tiwari (Professor, Department of Law, Dr. Harisingh Gour University, Sagar University) have consented to deliver a session on the theme.

About the Organiser

Siddhartha Law College is a college imparting education in law in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. It was established in the year 2009 and offers a five-year integrated Bachelor of Law degree, a three-year degree, and a one-year Master of Law degree. The college is affiliated with Uttarakhand Technical University. Siddhartha Group of Institutions managed by Siddhartha Educational Society began its journey of education in excellence in the lap of nature, amidst the lush green area of Danda-Khudanewala, near IT Park, Sahastradhara Road, Dehradun surrounded by the natural beauty of hills and forests and famous for its excellence in the educational field all over the country.

Timing

The lecture series will start from 7th December 2020 to 12th December 2020 from 3 PM onwards

• The Session will be conducted through an online application, the Details regarding which will be shared in the correspondence mails.
• E-certificates will be awarded to only those participants who will attend all sessions.
• There is no registration fee.
• All participants are required to abide by the proper code of conduct during the Session, and to refrain from indulging in any acts of a nuisance.
