IMS Law College, Noida which was established in 2004, is the first law college in Gautam Buddha Nagar to have started B.A., LL.B. 5-year degree programme. The college is known for its academic excellence and value-added education. It caters 5-year law degree courses like B.A., LL.B., B.Com., LL.B. and LL.B. 3-year degree course to the aspirants to be competent legal professionals. About National Sensitization Programme on “Transgender Rights”
The session aims at equipping the participants with transgender rights-related information through interactive discussions for advocacy, empowerment, and inclusion into the mainstream of society. Its mission is to advance the civil and human rights of transgender people through discussions and deliberations.
Besides its objectives are to understand gender diversity and remove misunderstandings related to the transgender community, provide an elaborate legal perspective of the common problems of the community, understand policies and interventions shaping, to ensure Human Rights and transgender inclusion and finally understand how to equip and sensitize society, and advocate for the transgender community.
The session would try to throw light not only on the emerging issues and challenges for the transgender community but also the legal remedies available in national and international legal frameworks.

About the Speaker
Dr Sunita Bachchhav is a staunch advocate for Human and Transgender Rights. She is a researcher, legal consultant, a trainer. Her humanistic approach has driven her to work with the transgender community and NGOs as a pro-bono consultant. Apart from working as a visiting lecturer in human rights and criminal laws, she organizes research seminars and training workshops for organizations, educational institutes, NGOs, and other transgender rights stakeholders in India and across the globe. Her ultimate mission is to advance the civil and human rights of transgender people through consultation, research, and training.
