विशेष अनुदेश :

(i) सभी प्रश्न अनिवार्य हैं ।

(ii) प्रत्येक प्रश्न के अंक उसके सामने अंकित हैं ।

(iii) प्रश्नों की शब्द - सीमा, जहाँ उल्लिखित है, को माना जाना चाहिए ।

नोट : प्रश्नों के प्रयासों की गणना क्रमानुसार की जाएगी । आंशिक रूप से दिए गए प्रश्नों के उत्तर को भी मान्यता दी जाएगी यदि उसे काटा न गया हो । प्रश्न सह- उत्तर पुस्तिका में खाली छोड़े गये किसी पृष्ठ अथवा पृष्ठ के भाग को पूर्णत: काट दीजिए ।

1. निम्नलिखित विषयों में से किसी एक पर पाँच सौ शब्दों में निबंध लिखिए । [50 Marks]

(ख) साहित्य और विज्ञान |

(ग) दृश्य-श्रव्य माध्यम और सामाजिक न्याय ।

2. नीचे दिये गये अनुच्छेद का एक-तिहाई (1/3) शब्दों में सार लिखिए और उसका सटीक शीर्षक लिखिए । [5+25 Marks]

भारतीय परिप्रेक्ष्य में अनुवाद - कार्य का विशेष महत्त्व है, कारण कि इस देश में जहाँ अनेक भाषाएँ हैं, वहीं यहाँ की संस्कृति, खान-पान, वेशभूषा में विविधता है । इसके कारण हमारे देश के लोगों में भिन्न भाषा और भिन्न संस्कृतिवाले अन्य लोगों के प्रति एक सहज आकर्षण बना रहता है । एक-दूसरे के प्रति आकर्षण को आत्मीयता में बदलने के लिए उनके बीच आपसी संवाद होना बहुत जरूरी है । यह आपसी संवाद अनुवाद के माध्यम से ही संभव है । पर्यटन और प्रवास के जरिए अपने इतने विशाल देश को जानना, यहाँ की बहुरूपा संस्कृति को जानना, हर आदमी के बस की बात नहीं है । लेकिन भाषाओं के साहित्य का अनूदित रूप प्राप्त होने से हम अपने विशाल देश को; अपने घर, जिला, राज्य से अलग भारत के दूसरे भाषावाले राज्यों की संस्कृति को बहुत आसानी से जान और समझ सकते हैं । अनुवाद के माध्यम से हमारी जानकारी और समझ तो विकसित होती है, इसके अलावा अपनी भाषा के प्रति प्रेम के साथ भारत की दूसरी भाषाओं के प्रति हमारे हृदय में अपनेपन का भाव जगता है और उसके लिए जगह भी बनती है । इसलिए भारत जैसे बहुभाषा-भाषी देश में अनुवाद निकट लाने के साथ जोड़ने का भी काम करता है । इसीलिए अनुवाद को भाषाओं का पुल कहा जाता है ।

3. निम्नलिखित अनुच्छेद का हिंदी में अनुवाद कीजिए। [20 Marks]

We do admit that there are many kinds of evils prevailing in the country today. Corruption, bribery and malpractices are rampant everywhere. And not only ordinary people but most responsible administrators are also involved in the dirty quagmire. It is essential to put an end to these evils, but we want to urge upon our students and young men that this can be done only through constructive activities and not through destructive ones. The fact is that as far as possible, students should not disturb their studies by involving themselves in the dirty game of politics etc. Learning and knowledge are the greatest assets of man. By losing them, he will get nothing but only kicks. Even then if our students and youngmen have a desire to reform the nation, we are prepared to welcome them with great pleasure and pride.
