Advisory to the Candidates
Before diving into the academic requirements necessary for the exam, it is important to throw some light on the ancillary things. These are the points which if ignored will result in a loss of the chance to appear in the exam. Knowledge will be of no use if one is not able to appear in the exam. Hence the following suggestions -:
Documents required - Utmost care is to be taken while collecting required documents for the exam. Printout of Admit card along with an extra photocopy must be taken. A government-approved photo identification card along with 2 passport-size photographs. Instructions given in the admit card are to be read carefully to ensure that all requisite terms and conditions are met.
Travel arrangements - Know your centre well in advance which is given in the admit card. Book a reliable ticket, preferably on the railway, for comfortable travel. One should ideally reach the exam city 1 day in advance and familiarise themselves wh the location of the exam centre and travelling routes.
Pre-exam checklist - Before leaving for the exam in the morning the essentials must be accounted for such as admit card, stationary, water bottle and lunch.
Utilising the gap between papers - A break of 3 hours is provided between the 2 papers. It is advisable to eat something light to keep the mind and body energetic. This gap is also essential to revise the key concepts which have a high probability of being asked in the exams.
Coming on to the academic aspect of the exam, clarity of the concepts of law and general knowledge is necessary. One must attempt the mock tests to have a general idea of the exam pattern, to have question-solving skills and to have a realistic idea about the time required to solve the paper. One should also have reliable concise notes to utilise the 3 gap hours efficiently.
