The Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Law University, Sonepat, (DBRANLU) established by the Government of Haryana stands as a testament to the legacy of Dr. B.R. Eligibility

To ensure wider reach and opportunity, the Competition will be open to all - including students (of all streams), academics, professionals, government officials, members of consumer forums, Voluntary Consumer Organizations (VCOs)/ NGOs etc.

Submission Guidelines

  1. The essay must be written in English and submitted in Microsoft Word document format (.doc/.docx).
  2. Each essay must be submitted by a single author only. No co-authorship is permitted.
  3. Only single submission is allowed per author.
  4. The following formatting specifications need to be strictly adhered to: Main Body:
    • Font – Times New Roman, Font Size – 12, and Line Spacing – 1.5;
      Footnotes: Font – Times New Roman, Font Size – 10, and Line Spacing – 1.0; Margins should be 1 inch or 2.54 cm on all sides; justified alignment.
  5. The word limit is 1500 - 2500 words excluding footnotes. Footnotes must follow the Bluebook format of citation (Harvard, 20th edition).

  7. The essay must be accompanied by a separate document containing the following:
    • full details of the participant i.e. name, institution affiliation, phone number, email ID etc;
    • theme/topic chosen;
    • A declaration stating that the essay is an original work of the author: “I certify that my submission is original, has not been published elsewhere, and is not under review or consideration elsewhere.”
    • With signature of author in .pdf Format.
  8. All submissions are subject to plagiarism check. A maximum of 10% similarity to existing publications is permissible in submitted works (excluding citations).

The Board reserves the right to summarily reject or return the submission to the author without feedback for non-compliance with these guidelines. In case of any dispute, the decision of the Board shall be final and binding.

The opinions/thoughts/ideas or any view of the author expressed and published in the article are respective views of the authors. The Centre or the Board shall not be held responsible or accountable for the opinion expressed by the author of the essay.

The Centre reserves the right to defer or terminate the competition without notice, in case suitable/quality entries are not received in the competition or of any other event outside our reasonable control.
