About the Organizer

The SVKM's Pravin Gandhi College of Law is a premier law institution under the aegis of Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal. It was established in 2004 and is affiliated to the University of Mumbai. At this institution we aim at giving students exposure to experiential learning in varied fields of law and in this regard, we have conducted and hosted various workshops, seminars and workshops.

About CLPRS

The Constitution of India is the fountainhead from where all other laws derive their existence. As such, a sound theoretical and practical understanding of the laws of the land would be incomplete without a comprehensive understanding of the working of the Constitution of India.

The Constitutional Law & Policy Reform Society (CLPRS) is a student-led organisation which provides a platform for all individuals to develop, foster and disseminate interest in Constitutional studies. The Society strives towards coming up with innovative policies and law reform recommendations rooted in Constitutional principles.

About SVKM National Essay Writing Competition on Constitutional Law

SVKM's Pravin Gandhi College of Law is hosting its National Essay Writing Competition on Constitutional Law.

The Competition aims to foster further Constitutional studies with an amalgamation of the ever-changing society and its disparities and needs.

Eligibility

  • All students pursuing undergraduate (three/five years) or postgraduate law degrees from any law school/university/college recognized by the Bar Council of India are eligible to participate in the Essay Competition.
  • Co-authorship of maximum TWO authors is permitted.

Topics (Any one)

  1. Deliberative democracy in the Indian Parliamentary system.
  2. The role of Freebies in Indian elections.

Important Dates

  • The participants are required to register themselves latest by 11:59 PM on September 18, 2022.
  • Last date to submit the essay is September 24, 2022, latest by 11:59 PM.

Registration Procedure

All interested participants are required to register themselves using the Google Form Link below and join the WhatsApp group post submission of the form to confirm their participation.

Awards

  • Author of the winning essay from each topic shall be given a Cash Prize of Rs. 1500 and Certificate.
  • All Participants Shall be provided with participation certificates.
Note: In case of Co-Authors, they shall collectively be given a Cash Prize of Rs. 1500.
