About

The VII Annual IP Teaching Workshop – 2018 is being organized by the Centre for Innovation, Intellectual Property and Competition (CIIPC) in association with National Academy of Law Teaching at National Law University Delhi (NLUD), on 24th March 2018 (Saturday).

The annual IP teaching workshops started as a joint programme in association with University of Washington School of Law, Seattle. By bringing together a select gathering of IP teachers and scholars from different corners of India, the 2018 workshop in its seventh edition aims to focus on academic writing.

As part of the workshop, early and mid-level faculty members, Ph.D. candidates having teaching or research interest in intellectual property are invited to apply by sending in a short research proposal and CV. The research proposal should contain the following:

  • Working title/ topic area
  • Research context/ background (should contain the current state of knowledge and any intricate debate on the topic or contemporary nature of research)
  • Research objective and research question/s
  • Importance of your current research (show how your research fills in the gaps in the current state of knowledge)
  • Research Methods (includes any methods involving interdisciplinary nature of research and also library research)
  • Short list of References (can be cited as endnotes or footnotes)
  • Timeline (explain stages of research in order to complete it in 6-8 months)

CIIPC encourages all kinds of research proposals, including those that specifically focus on empirical techniques, political economy, social sciences methods and doctrinal research in cross-cutting and interdisciplinary areas of law and public policy.

Senior commentators and scholars attending the workshop from India and abroad will provide useful inputs on the proposal and the way forward for conducting the research.

It is expected that the final outcome should be of publishable quality in globally reputed peer-reviewed or peer-referenced journals.
