New Delhi, April 5, 2025 — The three-day National Conference on “Navigating Legal Frontiers in India: Recent Trends”, organised by Law Centre II, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, concluded with a dynamic Valedictory Ceremony held at the Moot Court Hall, Umang Bhawan. The conference served as an intellectual confluence for academicians, legal scholars, practitioners, and policymakers to reflect on contemporary legal transformations in India.

The Valedictory Session began at 03:00 PM and featured esteemed guests who shared deep insights into the evolving legal landscape.

Guests Who Graced the Occasion

The Valedictory Ceremony, was graced by the presence of distinguished dignitaries who shared their thoughts on the relevance and success of the conference:

  • Hon’ble Justice Dr. Sudhir Kumar Jain, Former Judge, High Court of Delhi, served as the Chief Guest. He praised the conference for its depth of academic inquiry and the platform it offered to engage with complex legal issues in today’s fast-changing landscape.
  • Mrs. Pinki, Judicial Member, Delhi State Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission, joined as Guest of Honour and appreciated the diversity of research topics presented, particularly those addressing evolving legal needs.
  • Prof. Nuzhat Parveen Khan, Professor and Former Dean, Faculty of Law, Jamia Millia Islamia, also attended as Guest of Honour. She highlighted the importance of legal academia in shaping discourse on justice, policy, and reform and commended Law Centre II for curating such a timely and relevant academic event.

All dignitaries applauded the efforts of Law Centre II and the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, in providing a vibrant platform that fostered collaborative learning, critical reflection, and forward-looking research on India’s emerging legal frontiers.

Law Centre II's Ongoing Legacy

The Welcome Address was delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Anupam Jha, Professor In-Charge, Law Centre II, who acknowledged the collective efforts of participants and reiterated the Centre’s commitment to advancing legal scholarship.

In her Vote of Thanks, Prof. Pinki Sharma, Director of the National Conference, expressed sincere gratitude to all dignitaries, paper presenters, academic collaborators, and student volunteers who made the event a grand success.

Launch of AI-Patrika

During the Valedictory Ceremony, Law Centre II proudly launched its Online Bi-Annual AI-Patrika, showcasing a compilation of scholarly articles, academic highlights, and institutional updates. The AI-Patrika reflects the Centre’s continued commitment to promoting legal research and fostering a vibrant academic community.

Special Recognition and Free E-Library Access

In a gesture of academic encouragement, Mayank Shekhar, Founder of Legal Bites and Ph.D. Scholar at Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, announced a 6-month complimentary subscription to the Legal Bites E-library for all presenters of the conference. He also shared recent updates on the growth and vision of Legal Bites as a platform dedicated to legal education and resource-sharing across the country.

Engaging Paper Presentation Sessions with Robust Participation

Across the three days, the conference hosted 10 themed Technical Sessions, each designed to address urgent concerns in diverse fields of law:

  • Corporate and Labour Law
  • Constitutional and Administrative Law
  • Intellectual Property Rights
  • Technology and Cyber Laws
  • Family Law
  • Criminal Law

The sessions were chaired and guided by distinguished professors and resource persons from leading institutions. With over 100 attendees in each session, the paper presentations proved to be lively, insightful, and deeply engaging. Participants presented cutting-edge research on topics ranging from climate justice and AI regulation to data privacy, digital evidence, IPR and traditional knowledge, and criminal justice reforms.

The quality of submissions, the diversity of themes, and the intellectual exchange created a dynamic academic atmosphere that was both enriching and collaborative.

Contributions and Participation

The conference featured 10 Technical Sessions with themes spanning environmental law, constitutional law, intellectual property, cyber law, family law, corporate law, criminal justice, and technology law. Participants from across India presented high-quality research papers — selected through a competitive abstract review process — which added immense academic value to the event. The diverse range of discussions reflected pressing issues such as AI in legal systems, gender justice, digital privacy, climate litigation, and IPR in the age of innovation.
